Health insurance in Miami, from a local licensed broker

Tatiana Andrea Real · Licensed health insurance broker · NPN 22238844 · Se habla español

I'm based in Miami and I work with families, self-employed workers and small business owners across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. I compare ACA Marketplace (Obamacare) plans and private plans side by side, apply every subsidy you qualify for, and stay your broker at renewal. The consultation is free, and your premium is the same whether you enroll with me or alone.

Why Miami health insurance is different

Florida has had more people enrolled in Marketplace plans than any other state in recent years, and South Florida is the center of it. That means more carriers and more plan choices in Miami-Dade and Broward than in most of the country, and more ways to pick the wrong one. Networks are the biggest trap: two plans with the same premium can include completely different hospitals, from Jackson and Baptist Health to Memorial and Mount Sinai.

Florida also hasn't expanded Medicaid. If your income sits just above or below the poverty line, the answer can change completely, and that's the first thing I check.

Who I help in South Florida

  • Self-employed and 1099 workers: realtors, contractors, mechanics, estheticians, nail techs, rideshare drivers and anyone whose income moves month to month.
  • Nurses and travel clinicians: RNs, NPs, PAs and paramedics who need coverage that works on assignment.
  • Families who want to keep their pediatrician, their OB-GYN and their specialists without overpaying.
  • Small business owners comparing a group plan with ICHRA or QSEHRA reimbursement.
  • People leaving a job who were just quoted COBRA and want to see what else they qualify for.

I work with clients in Miami, Miami Beach, Hialeah, Doral, Kendall, Coral Gables, Homestead, Miami Gardens, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Sunrise, Weston, Plantation, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach, by phone, text or video, in English or Spanish.

What we compare on a 15-minute call

  • Marketplace plans with your premium tax credit and any cost-sharing reduction applied.
  • Private plans sold outside the Marketplace, which can cost less for healthy people who don't qualify for much of a subsidy.
  • Your doctors, hospitals and prescriptions, checked against each network before you enroll.
  • The out-of-pocket maximum, the number that decides what a bad year really costs you.

Miami health insurance questions

Does it cost more to use a health insurance broker in Miami?

No. Brokers are paid by the insurance carrier, and the premium is the same whether you enroll with a broker, on HealthCare.gov, or directly with the carrier. The consultation and quotes are free.

When can I sign up for health insurance in Florida?

Open Enrollment for 2027 runs November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. Choose a plan by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Outside that window you need a qualifying life event, such as losing other coverage, moving, marriage or a new baby. Medicaid, Florida KidCare and many private plans can be applied for any time.

Can I keep my doctors?

Often, yes, but it depends on the plan's network, which changes every year. Send me the names of your doctors and hospitals, and I'll check them in every plan we compare before you choose.

Do you speak Spanish?

Sí. Every consultation, quote and enrollment can be done fully in Spanish.

Fifteen minutes and you'll know where you stand

Bring the doctors you want to keep, any prescriptions you take, and a rough income for next year. Nothing to sign, and the quote costs you nothing.
